The Judging Process
Once you have entered, each company will be sent a form which looks specifically at your company and what you offer your employees. We’ll also want to know whether you have any company values – and we’ll ask if you have any other comments you want to add, too.
We’ll also email you a questionnaire, which you can either email to all your employees, or print out to give to them. Employees should fill out the forms and return them to the email address or postal address given – they should be sent directly to the independent research company that is collating all the results. Employee comments will be completely anonymous.
We do need a certain percentage of each firm’s employees to respond to ensure the results are accurate. The independent research company carrying out the work will notify companies that have not met the required response rate, in order to allow them to encourage more employee participation.
Please find below the benchmarks:
Number of Employees Minimum number of responses
1 - 30 employees 5
31 - 60 employees 10
61 - 100 employees 20
101 - 200 employees 30
201 - 500 employees 40
500 + employees 50
Once all the individual company results are completed (by the closing date of 15th April 2009), firms will be ranked according to their performance, and a shortlist will be drawn up.
The shortlist will be announced after 30th April and we will contact you directly to let you know if you are sucessfully through to the final.
All shortlisted companies will be invited to attend the Awards at Lords Cricket Ground, Pavillion Suite, London on Wednesday 17th June 2009, where the winners of the Best Places to Work in Construction Awards 2009 will be announced.
Individual company reports will be sent to all entrants who have submitted the required level of employee responses. These will be emailed to participating companies beginning of July 2009.
